about

Maybird, a four-piece band from Rochester NY, have today released their newest EP Unraveling, featuring the tracks, "Keep In Line" & “Grace”. The EP, produced by Patrick Carney of The Black Keys, saw Keep In Line premiered on DIY Magazine, and called it a "timeless psych-pop single" they also note it "often toes the line between pure psych¬pop euphoria and a sense of frustration and restlessness, something that also feeds into the lyrics." Additionally, Grace premiered on EW.com - and Josh Netsky spoke about the song - “The song is about desiring the ability to be graceful so that you can win somebody’s affection,” frontman Josh Netsky tells EW. “But that somebody is kind of out there — like not in your league."

Maybird was founded by Josh Netsky and have become known for creating timeless music with psychedelic pop overtones. Josh discussed the new single and noted, "I was sitting up on my roof in Brooklyn alone, zoned out, listening to this construction vehicle beeping a repetitive melody in the distance and something clicked. I recorded the sound of the beeps and made that the basis for "Keep in Line." The lyrics ended up being about a feeling of restlessness when someone you're used to having around is out being productive and you're not, but wish you were... that's what was going on with me at the time. There's some pretty clear relationship lingo in here, but a lot of this song is also about the desire to travel and make music."
